Frequently Asked Questions
What is v001?
What sort of functionality should I modularize with v001's modular system?
The v001 module system was designed for the dynamic loading of, and generating interfaces for, effects. However, there are probably quite a few unintended uses so do share your modules. :)
What's the difference between a module and a library patch?
Modules are dynamically loaded off of disk from specific folders. Modules are intended to be user editable, re-usable and adhere to a specific 'API'. Modules have 2 inlets and outlets, send simple messages to initialize user interfaces on the fly and do the bulk of the work (read jitter/MSP, etc processing) in your patches.
Library patches are the glue that let the v001 system work, they dont do anything other than inform the API for the module system, and add some nicities to help make patching easier. Library patches typically shouldnt be edited, otherwise functionality can be broken.
If you wish to add or use your patches within a new v001 patch, or integrate v001 into your existing patches, its suggested you organize your code and not edit any specific v001 library patches.
Who is vade?
A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. [..] A young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.
